Origin: Savigny-lès-Beaune, Côte de Beaune, Burgundy, France
Grape Variety: Pinot Noir (100%)
Tasting Notes:
Eye: Bright ruby to garnet colour, with some purple hues when younger.
Nose: Aromas of red and dark fruit – cherry, raspberry, perhaps a touch of blackcurrant; supported by floral hints (violet), with subtle spice or undergrowth and maybe gentle oak.
Palate: Medium bodied, delicate but well balanced; silky texture with fine tannins; refreshing acidity; flavours echo the nose – red fruit predominant, possible spicy undertones and a hint of earth or forest floor. The finish tends to be graceful and persistent rather than bold.
Paired with: Roasted or grilled red meats, poultry, game birds; soft to medium cheese
