Origin: Volnay, Côte de Beaune, Burgundy, France
Grape Variety: Pinot Noir (100%)
Tasting Notes:
Eye: Clear garnet/red-ruby colour; perhaps with slight purple hues in youth.
Nose: Perfumed & elegant: red fruits (cherry, raspberry, strawberry), aromas of violet/flowers, touches of forest floor, truffle, and subtle earthy/truffly undertones. Also a hint of spice, maybe some light leather or undergrowth.
Palate: Medium bodied; silky texture with fine, soft tannins. Fruit-forward with clean red fruit flavors, complemented by mineral notes; balanced acidity; elegant and refined. The finish is graceful, persistent, with gentle earthy/truffle echoes.
Paired with: Poultry, game birds, roasted meats; dishes with mushrooms or earthy flavors; charcuterie. Best served at ~14-17 °C.
